Effective 30 September 2026
Seeme is an app for video calls, voice calls, messaging and moments. This policy explains what information Seeme collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].
| What | Details | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number | The number you sign in with. It is verified with a one-time code sent by SMS. | Creating and securing your account |
| Profile | Name, username and profile photo you choose. | So friends can find and recognise you |
| Email address | Only if you sign in with Google: the email address, name and picture of that Google account. | Signing you in |
| Content you send | Messages, photos, videos, voice messages, reactions, moments and replies to moments. | Delivering them to the people you send them to |
| Connections | Friend requests, your friends list and the users you block. | Running the friends and blocking features |
| Call records | Who called whom, when, for how long and whether it was voice or video. The audio and video of a call are transmitted live and are not recorded or stored by Seeme. | Call history and connecting calls |
| Device information | A push-notification token, device model, operating system version and app version. | Sending notifications and fixing problems |
| Crash reports | Technical details of a crash (what the app was doing, device model, OS version). Not tied to your name or phone number. | Finding and fixing bugs |
Seeme uses your camera and microphone only while you are on a call or recording something to send. Your photo library is read on your device so you can choose what to share; only the items you choose to send are uploaded.
Seeme does not collect your location, does not read your address book, does not use advertising identifiers and contains no advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.
Your name, username and profile photo can be seen by other Seeme users, for example when they search for you. Your phone number may be visible to people you are friends with. Messages are visible to the people in the conversation, and moments to your friends until they expire.
These providers process information on our behalf and only to deliver their service to us:
| Provider | What it does for Seeme |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Phone-number verification, Google sign-in, push notifications and crash reports |
| Agora | Carries the live audio and video of calls |
| DigitalOcean | Hosts the Seeme servers and the media you send |
| MongoDB Atlas | Hosts the Seeme database |
| Cloudinary | Stores custom reaction images and moment thumbnails |
| Cloudflare | Protects and speeds up connections to Seeme |
| Apple and Google | Deliver push notifications to your device |
We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the safety of our users. If Seeme is ever merged with or acquired by another company, your information may be transferred as part of that; this policy would continue to apply until you are told otherwise.
Connections between the app and Seeme are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to our servers is restricted. No online service can promise perfect security, so please do not send anything through Seeme that you could not afford to have exposed, and tell us straight away if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
Seeme is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Seeme and its providers operate servers in the United States and other countries. By using Seeme, your information may be processed outside the country you live in.
If we make a change that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell you in the app before it takes effect.
